Why did I get this email bounce? I didn't send this email! (Issue 1022)

Summary

Why did I get this email bounce? I didn't send this email!

Body

Most likely a spammer has submitted spam to another domain using your email account as it's "From:" address.
When the receiving mail server realizes the mail is spam, they will bounce the mail back to the "From:" line, even though the spam could have originated from another country.

You receive the bounced back email, and you in fact never sent the original message, which can be quite confusing. Rest assured that the mail server that bounced the mail is just doing its job, even though it is entirely inaccurate in its analysis of the origin of the spam message.
